The craft was passed down to Rubbens through his grandfather and father, who both made furniture and who trained Rubbens in traditional woodworking techniques while sharing their passion for wood with him.

Rubbens did not wait long befor starting his own company in 1986.

Since then, he has continued to grow and learn in an ongoing quest to perfect his craft and his design skills.

Rubbens earned recongnition for his efforts, winning prizes at the Salon du Meuble de Paris in January 2004 and January 2005.

His designs were chosen by juries that included design icons such as Andrée Putman and Yves Domergues, who provided design services for the French TGV hifh-speed train, and decorating press and television professiona
